Merfolk
"To be of the merfolk is to be either a mermaid, or a merman. The merfolk are not bound to just the ocean, contrary to popular belief. When in the sea, they do have a tail, resembling that of a fish, which allows them to be exceptional swimmers. They also grow gills underwater, allowing them to breathe easily. Upon returning to land, their tail splits, revealing human legs. Although the merfolk are able to walk on land, and lead relatively normal lives, they cannot go long without returning to the sea, or any other body of water."
Satyrs
The party goers of the fey world. They are the half-human, half-goat. They are unable to turn of their animal like characteristics. Their most prominent feature would be their horns, large and thick, they protrude from the head, and are used generally for fighting.
Dryads or Druids
Dryads are the entities of the Earth. They dwell in or near forest like areas and have a very strong connection with the Earth. Their skin tones are generally darker brown, or slightly green depending on their age. Many dryads have magic imbued in them, a natural talent. Their magic mostly pertains to the earth, although any specific magic depends on the dryad.
Elves
Elves are the pointy eared folk we love so much. They appear to be peace loving people on the outside, but do not underestimate their ability to fight. Lithe and nimble, they are as graceful as they come. Nature lovers, of course, they are apprehensive when it comes to technology. Some do have special abilities, but it generally depends on age, and natural affinities to certain elements.
