There are several things you should know about the vampires, but first we will cover the basics of this well-known race. Humans have come up with their own theories of Vamps, they are right on some parts, but others they are totally wrong.
Sunlight
Sunlight will burn Vampires. Short and simple, if a vamp goes out into the daylight their skin will burn, and the pain is quite horrible. They are a creature of the night and always will be, but there is a way around this if you know a witch that would be willing to charm a ring that will protect you from the burn of the sun. As Witches despise Vampires the best way to do this is to pay one a nice sum of money.
Killing one
This is a bit of a secret, you won't find them spreading this all around, but the best way to kill them is to decapitate, peirce them in the heart, or burn them. Which none of them are easy. It doesn't matter what you peirce their heart with, as long as you do. Wooden things tend to paralyze them into it is removed. Holy water has no affect on Vampires, though some think it does.
Pure Bloods
Pures are, of course, created through breeding. They are considered higher up than the bittens and have created their own Clan, the leader being Marina Leblanc. All vampires have the ability to pass the trait to someone else, wether through sex or biting, but it is frowned upon if you Bitten creates another.
Bittens
Bittens are obviously vampires bitten by Pure Bloods, though sometimes they can be created by other Bittens. They live to serve their Pure and create a very strong bond, some closer than what one would have with a lover. Weres, Lycans, and Shifters can not be a Bitten, if a Vampire does bite them it will simply make them dizzy. But any other race, within reason, can be changed. Please PM a Mod if you want to change something other than a Human, Human with Abilities, or Meta so that it can be examined and we will either accept or decline the idea.
Blood
Vampires need human blood. No if, ands, or buts, about it. They can drink from other races, but to survive human blood is the way to go. Animal blood has no effect and most Vampires get sick if they drink it. They can drink other liquids, most have a certain taste for red wine or alcohol. Vampires tend to love blood from weres, they find it a treat and it can drive them into a frenzy and make them drain the were dry, so beware if you decide to give blood to one.

Yes, vampires can be created through a simple bite, but it's a little more complicated than that. They can control their venom from spreading through the bitten human's veins, the older they are, the easier it becomes.
