New York City's own Central Park. Maxwell still found it hard to believe that he was in such a big city. In fact he had never thought he would move to New York. He had only done so for his job transfer, having been transferred to a larger company industry. One might find it hard to believe that the happy-go-lucky partying guy was actually a part of such a large firm. He certainly had come a long way since his teenage years, that was for sure. Max actually quite enjoyed New York, with the bustling streets of people none the wiser on what he really was. He also enjoyed the many places he could go to. The restaurants, the clubs, even the parks such as this one.
Many people were at the park today. Children were flying their kites in the easy going breeze, laughing as only a child could. Their mothers watched on while talking to each other. With a better sense of hearing than a human Max was able to hear that they were talking about an upcoming birthday. Not one to listen in on someone else’s chit chat, Maxwell walked on down the winding pebbled walkway. Today was his day off, so he had dressed accordingly. Jeans and a bright green t-shirt, something he only wore on days he was not expected in office of course. Happy to be out and about, Max hummed a cheery tune that matched the bird's melody. This day couldn't possibly be more perfect.
Or could it? On such a day like this Max often wished he could turn into his wolf form whenever he pleased. Running through a forest, the dirt filling up in his paw pads only to go flying through the air as he kicked. His tongue rolling out of his maw in complete happiness. He greatly enjoyed his other self, which was why he always looked forward to the full moon. He had been born with the wolf, though he had only found out about it when he turned sixteen. From then on he had truly felt free. Thinking back, Maxwell was surprised that he had never been discovered by a stranger because of his bad judgment. Surely you would think a drunk would mess up with a secret such as his? But he had not and he was glad that only one other person knew of his wolf. Maxwell often wondered if perhaps he would meet others with an ability like his. He knew they were out there and he had met a few, though the encounters really weren't the best he had had with someone. Surely there were those who enjoyed the other self they had?
The wind rustled just a bit, causing the kids now far behind him to squeak in delight. With it the breeze carried the scents of the many wild flowers growing along the edges of the pebble trail and farther out into the grassy areas. Max cast a quick glance to each side of him. He sighed, noticing that most of the women here were either with their children or on a date. Those who weren’t were with a group of friends and did not seem interested in him in the slightest. Oh well, he would still enjoy the day without feeling the need to flirt. When he had looked around Maxwell had noticed that large tree in the grassy area to his right. Seeing nothing else to do at the moment, he walked over to and under into the tree’s shade. Cooled and feeling the need to relax, he crouched down into the cool grass and leaned against the tree’s strong trunk. He crossed his arms behind his head and closed his eyes, the bushy leaves shading him from the hot sun above.

Joel had sensed the man approaching and laying on the other side of the tree he slipped his large paws from under him and slunk around the tree's side just enough to see the other gentleman that had taken to lazing in the shade. He blinked twice before sliding back into his original place and shifting back into his human self, and stood, leaning against the old tree's trunk with a heavy sigh, announcing his presence the best way he knew how.
"New in town?" He muttered turning his gaze over in Max's direction. He looked the man over being able to sense something off about him, he reminded Joel far too much of himself in many ways, which meant he wasn't a mortal, oh well easier to get along with that way. "Let me guess, out trolling for some sort of lady and a bit of fun? I might be able to help with that...I'm a pretty smooth talker.." Joel was excellent with the opposite sex, his music made most swoon without a second thought although the one he had his eye on had yet to desire him, no matter how often he serenaded her with songs written for her ears only, the eldest of the Dea sisters was hard to get, or at least played the role well. He had hoped to run into her on this lovely Saturday in the park, but alas he had yet to so perhaps speaking with the new guy would be a way to pass the time, he just hoped he had not noticed him change before speaking with him.
"I'm Joel by the way, the youngest at heart and oldest in mind mother fucker you will find 'round these parts." He flashed a half smirk at Max and proceeded to continue with his line of speech. "And you? Who might you be? You don't look much over the legal age, so still young i presume, either that or you have an awesome secret you should share"

The swish of the air against Toni was perfect as she watched her sister, twirling the blue frisbee in her long fingers, pale blue eyes thoughtful. Rose didn't inherit the cat-like agility and gracefulness that Toni did, nor did she have the superhuman strength and the ability to be able to withstand certain injuries, but that sure as hell didn't mean the younger woman couldn't catch every swift throw Toni pulled.
These were the games the young were loved, how she had to arch her back just right when she jumped up as the disk flew in a curve above her head was almost perfect training. The two sisters had always been athletic, in high school Toni had excelled in soccer, softball was almost too easy, and volleyball was a breeze.
Toni grinned, loving the fact that she was starting to adgitate Rose, and stretched her spine out before tossing the frisbee lazily her way. She tilted her head as the wind caught the disk, making it curve way over the smaller brunnette's head. She turned around to follow where it went, hitting the head of someone that was leaning against the tree while another man talked to him. Toni looked over her shoulder and grimaced at her sister, "My bad!" she called before making her way over too the two, not looking around when she heard Rose come up behind her.
"Sorry about that, the wind must've caught it." she told the man, bending down to pick the frisbee up when the familiar smell reached her nose. "Aand of course, hello again Joel." her voice turned dry as she spoke to the dark haired shifter that looked at her. She moved past him to stand next to Rose again, handing her the disk with a sheepish smile, before looking at the eye candy that was sitting down, a small purr growing in her throat. "My nose tells me you're a were, though not one I've ever met before. I'm Toni Dea, and this is my sister, Rose. You are?" the smell of wolf was strong on her nose, though that didn't mean that this new one turned into a wolf, she knew quite well of Joel's form.

For whatever reason Rose could not figure out, her sister always loved trying to show her up in a little sport between them. It wasn’t even like it was a competition or more than just the two of them. It wasn’t even a game. They were just tossing a flimsy blue frisbee back and forward. And yet each time, Toni was pulling off little stunts while doing it. Rose kept a smile prominent though, and when the frisbee came soaring right back to her, she jumped to try and reach it. But she crashed down without it in her hand, bursting a slight wave of laughter, before turning to go retrieve it.
”Maybe you should focus more on accuracy and less on the stunts.” She teased her sister before her eyes actually turned to see the frisbee collide with some poor guy’s head while he had been leaning against a tree. Rose cringed but still walked forward toward the two men. Of course Toni was there before she was, even though she had been a further distance. She smacked the back of her hand against the side of Toni’s stomach lightly and glanced to her.
”Good going sis. Hurt the poor guy.” Rose murmured, leaning into her sister slightly. Then, as her dark eyes fell upon the two men, did she notice Joel had been one of the men. She had to wonder if maybe he had been following them out to the park. It was obvious to Rose that Joel was fawning all over her sister. And he was really unlikely to ever succeed with the silly way in which he had been trying to win Toni. Toni was not the kind of girl that got all gooey eyed when some poor sap started singing her a tune.
Rose mostly kept silent since her sister decided to speak for both of them. She smiled and waved at the other guy, whom apparently was a were. It was times like these that Rose always felt severely out of the loop. She couldn’t tell when someone was a were, vampire, supernatural anything really. It was frustrating. Well sometimes she could tell, but that was just a matter of keen observation. And the man before her wasn’t exactly screaming feral. She nodded her head lightly and smiled to Joel, as she took the Frisbee from her sister and held it at her side.

A nice cold drink would be good about now. Maxwell thought as he enjoyed the relaxation the tree behind him offered. That was when he heard a sigh from behind him and he turned to see another man make his appearance known. Though he hadn't been expecting it, Max had no complaints about his newfound company. In fact he was rather glad that he would have someone to talk to now. He didn't know very many here in New York yet, even with his charming personality. The smell of other came upon his nostrils, though Max was not sure if this guy was another Were or perhaps a Shifter. One thing for certain though, was that this guy was not a human. It seemed this new guy also knew that Max was not human, though he didn't seem to know what he was either. Max took a moment to look over the new guy as he introduced himself, finding that his claim of being a smooth talker probably wasn't a lie, with looks as good as his.
Max laughed and nodded. "Yeah, I'm new in town. It's a pleasure to meet you, Joel." Extending his hand for a shake, Maxwell debated on how to respond. He was still young, having only become the age where he would stay the same for quite a while now. Before he could even introduce himself something came flying towards his head, making contact before he could respond. Even another Were would not have been expecting a blue frisbee to attack them, right? Max certainly hoped so, otherwise his image was going to be ruined. Taking his eyes off Joel, Max watched as two women came walking towards them. Instantly Max put on his flirting smile. He had been expecting them to take the frisbee back and leave so that he could go back to talking with Joel, but instead Max was in for a surprise. The woman to approach them first apologized and seemed to know who Joel was. Toni was quite the pretty lady and she knew what Max was. Not surprising since Max was also able to scent her being a Were. The smell of cat was strong, cheetah to be exact.
Again before he could introduce himself Toni's sister Rose came up. She smiled and waved at him, so Max nodded and smiled back. Both sisters were beautiful, it being easy to tell who was the more outgoing and who was the more quiet of the two. Or perhaps that was only for the occasion, as Maxwell did know them enough to say for sure. Max had been expecting Rose to be a Were as well, but it seemed as though she were a human. Certainly not a problem, as Maxwell quite enjoyed humans as much as he did any other not so normal person. Hell, he had thought he was one himself until he was sixteen and he himself had a sister who was human.
Sure that no one else would come flying from the bushes or appearing from the ground, Maxwell finally introduced himself. "I'm Maxwell, but please, call me Max. I've just moved to New York along with my sister, so I'm still getting used to the city. Yes, I'm a Were." He sent what he thought of as a killer smile to Toni before turning to Joel. "It seems there is something different about you, but I can't figure out if you’re a Shifter or Were? Care to fill me in on your secret?" Max said in a joking manner, eyes sparkling in humor. Finally, Max turned to Rose, who had been quiet for the time being. "You know you really should speak up some. Even if you are a human with a group of Weres I bet you have something more productive to say than me. Trust me, I know from experience!" Oh and did he ever. Maxwell smiled genuinely at Rose, not really sure who to keep his attention on. To think it hadn't been all that long ago since he had been alone and now he had three acquaintances to talk to. If given the chance, he was pretty sure that he would get along with everyone here. Life certainly was good.
