It is modern day 2011 in the state of New York, all seems well in the world, where myth and reality were once split by a fine line. But two years ago myth stepped over that line and came out, blurring reality. Vampires were the first to come out in public, on live TV they explained their race and how they lived. Afterwards their outing brought so many races that changed the way of life of the humans. Clans were created, boundaries set, prejudice formed.
